Vacaciones

The closest i’ll know of vacations at least until July 2008 is already past. It was great, definetely. On saturday’s morning I left to Colbún (some 300 kms to the south of Santiago) where my friend Chuko and a two of his friends were since one week. Clearly we were making a barbecue that night (the idea was to make it for lunch, but by the time we actually finished, it was definetely for dinner). Chuko’s father told us that we had to wait for him for the barbecue, and that’s what we did. By the time he finally got there, it was about 5 in the afternoon and we were all starving, but we were not thirsty (the piscolas were quite nice). Anyway, there was lots and lots of good meat, accompanied by a nice merkén with some potatoes (merkén is a kind of chilli that’s dryed and grinded, and it’s quite spicy — and yes, the fact that it was a “merkén with potatoes” was ironic… –) that was perfect, even though some found it too spicy :D

Today the day was totally relaxed until at 5.30 in the afternoon we left for santiago. It was some 3.45 hrs of driving on a good highway until we came close to Rancagua (some 90 kms south of Santiago), where the traffic started to be too dense.

Now vacations are over and we’re back to work until we die :(

Sonata Arctica

AWESOME!!! I just came home from the Sonata Arctica concert. It was too good :D

Much better than i had expected. Considering thet i don0t like that much the last album, i wasn’t so eager to go. But as i had promised my “mojona” (my sister) that i’d take her to the concert (the ticket was, indeed, her christmas present), i was forced to go. Not that i didn’t want to go, but if it had been my initiative, i wouldn’t have gone.

Well, it happens that the new album sounds much better alive than in studio (anyway, i still consider the older albums to be better). And they didn’t play too many songs of the new album. It was, unfortunately, only one and a half hours of music, a time i enjoyed totally. Apart form that, before Sonata played Alejandro Silva, a guy, some say, not too nice, but as a musitian is excelent. And as a signature of this concert, a phrase said by Alejandro Silva himself, “Live Metal, Die Reggaeton, let it die forever!!!”, a phrase followed by the supporting screaming of the 4 – 5 thousand people that crowded the place.

Here are a few pictures and a video i made of “Shamandalie” (sorry, the quality’s not that good :( )

I finally did it. I’d been thinking of it a few months. And as nowadays the house’s pretty empty (just my dad and i are here) i changed the layout of my room. The computer’s still where it was before, but now the bed changed places with the 2 bookcases that were right on your left when you entered the room. One of those bookcases is now history, and a new addition has come to the room, the VITROBAR :D A small fridge i had with 2 colleages on my former job. Now we 3 work elsewhere and we had to decide who kept it, guess who won (and had to pay a few pesos too)…

Malditos Desgraciados!!!

Damn mo#@%ers!!! This wednesday’s afternoon my car’s right mirror was stolen for the second time in about 5 months, yes, it’s happened already TWICE. One might think that a mirror’s not too expensive… But the problem is that whoever did it, used too much stregth and got also the small engine that moves the mirror. Reult??? I had to pay the insurance the 3 UF (~$60.000) my contract says instead of paying the more than $160.000 that the whole piece costs. Apart from that, now the numberplate is carved on both mirrors, maybe with that there’s less incentive to steal the mirrors. The problem is that now every time i look the mirrors, something i do a lot, i see the numberplate there, that’s a bit uncomfortable.

So, summing up everything, i’ve been robbed the mirrors twice and once my car got scratched. That makes a total of ~$180.000, with nothing being my fault, is it fair???

Note: US$1 ~= $470 and €1 ~= $690
